Afghanistan: Six kids die due to diarrhea in Mazar-e-Sharif
Afghanistan's Mazar-e-Sharif city has witnessed the deaths of six children due to seasonal diseases like diarrhea in the past two months, media reports said.
According to Abdul Raouf Forough, director of the pediatric ward of Abu Ali Sina Balkhi Hospital, four children died last month, and two more in the second half of May, reports Khaama Press.
He also elaborated that around 150 to 250 children with this kind of disease visit the pediatric section of the hospital.
“One of the reasons is the hot weather, and people do not use clean water, they use contaminated water, or children do not feed on mother’s milk, and they do not observe environmental and personal hygiene, and also use unclean fruits and vegetables,” said Forough.
