Dense fog envelops Delhi as mercury dips to 1.9 degrees Celsius
New Delhi: An envelope of dense fog covered National Capital Delhi on Sunday morning as the lowest temperature in the city was recorded at 1.9 degrees Celsius.

A dense fog settled over large parts of North India causing poor visibility in many places.
On Sunday morning, several flights were delayed at the Delhi airport.
"Around 20 flights have been delayed at Delhi airport due to weather conditions, and no flight diversion was reported till 6 am," said an official at Delhi airport, according to India Today.
Throughout the city, thick fog posed difficulty for commuters.
Amid very low temperatures such as 1.9 degrees in Safdarjung, 2.8 degrees in Lodhi Road and 2.6 degrees in Aya Nagar, the air quality index remained in the "Very poor" category with the Air Quality Index (AQI) at 359.
Many areas like Akshardham and central Delhi, were seen engulfed in thick fog in the early morning.
As the temperature dipped, the Met Office issued an "orange" alert for certain parts of North India, including Delhi, for Sunday as the cold wave is expected to continue.
