Spotify, the popular music streaming app, has introduced a new feature designed to give listeners more insight into the songs they love.
Titled “About the Song”, the feature is currently in beta and promises to bring stories and context directly into the listening experience.
“Spotify is introducing About the Song, a new feature currently in beta that brings stories and context directly into your listening experience,” the company said on its website.
Available in the Now Playing View, About the Song features short, swipeable story cards that explore the meaning behind the music. These cards summarize information from third-party sources to highlight interesting details, behind-the-scenes moments, and insights about the track.
The feature is rolling out on mobile (iOS and Android) in English for Premium users in the U.S., U.K., Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, and Australia.

Open the Now Playing View while listening on the Spotify mobile app.
Scroll down to find the About the Song card on supported tracks.
