Ahmedabad Air India crash: Former Gujarat CM Vijay Rupani's body identified via DNA test; mortal remains to be flown to Rajkot
Ahmedabad: The body of former Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani, who was among the 241 people killed in the Ahmedabad Air India crash, has been identified with the help of a DNA test, media reports said.

The report, confirming Rupani's identity, came in at 11:10 a.m. on Sunday, NDTV reported.
His mortal remains will be taken to Rajkot in a chartered plane, the report added.
The senior BJP leader from Gujarat was flying in business class on a Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner, operating as Flight AI171.
The plane crashed just 32 seconds after takeoff from Ahmedabad's Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport around 1:38 pm on June 12, CCTV footage from the airport showed.
As the aircraft lost control and caught fire, it crashed into a building within the campus of BJ Medical College in the Meghaninagar area.
Several people, including ordinary locals, MBBS students, and college staff, on the ground were killed under the impact.
The NDTV report said so far, 32 bodies have been identified, and the bodies of 14 have been handed over to their families.
Initially, Rupani had planned to travel on May 19, but rescheduled it for June 5. He later booked a seat in the June 12 Air India flight. The manifest listed him in a business class seat 2D, the report added.
According to reports, Rupani was travelling to London to meet his daughter and wife.
The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), the Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB), and Boeing's forensic team are currently analysing black box data.
