Ailing BJP MP Abhijit Gangopadhyay set to be admitted to Delhi AIIMS as health condition worsens
Kolkata/IBNS: Ailing Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Abhijit Gangopadhyay is airlifted to New Delhi for better treatment as his health condition further deteriorates, media reports said.

The former Calcutta High Court judge will be admitted to Delhi AIIMS by his party members.
Gangopadhyay, who is suffering from acute pancreatitis, was admitted to a city hospital days ago. He has also been diagnosed with gastrointestinal sepsis.
He is currently on oxygen support.
The judge-turned-politician was escorted to the airport on Thursday in a green corridor.
"Abhijit Gangopadhyay's health is not great. We expect better treatment at Delhi AIIMS. We are hoping for his speedy recovery," said West Bengal BJP president and Lok Sabha MP, Sukanta Majumdar.
Gangopadhyay, who passed several crucial judgements in the Bengal teacher recruitment scam, joined the BJP in 2024.
The former judge successfully contested from West Bengal's Tamluk constituency in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
