Akhilesh Yadav says 'not invited' to join Bharat Jodo Yatra
Lucknow/IBNS: Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav Thursday said he wasn’t invited to join Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Yatra as BJP and the Congress were on the same boat while his party has a different ideology.
Yadav’s comments came despite Congress’s claim that it sent an invitation to Akhilesh to share the stage with Rahul Gandhi in its flagship event.
Bharat Jodo Yatra would resume after a break in Uttar Pradesh from January 3, 2023.
Addressing reporters in Lucknow, Yadav said, “We have not received any invitation (for Bharat Jodo Yatra). The ideology of our party is different. BJP and Congress both are same.”

SP sources further told the media that the SP chief would be busy with the party programmes lined up over the next few weeks and it wouldn’t be possible for him to join the march.
Mayawati’s Bahujan Samaj Party, too, distanced from Bharat Jodo Yatra saying it hadn’t received an invitation.
The Uttar Pradesh leg of the Yatra will enter Ghaziabad’s Loni area on January 3 and travel to Haryana via Shamli’s Kairana and reach Mavi Kalan in Baghpat the next day.
It will pass through Sisana, Sarurpur and Barot in the same district.
On January 5, the yatra will reach Alam in Shamli district and pass through Kandhla, Uncha village and Kairana.
