The notice, reportedly issued by two “authorised” people, soon went viral on social media, triggering a massive controversy.

The AMU ensured a showcase notice will be issued against those responsible for the notice.
“The matter was brought to our attention. We found that the notice was regarding the food menu. However, it contained a clear typing error. The notice was immediately withdrawn as it had no official signatures, raising doubts about its authenticity,” reads the statement issued by the AMU as quoted by Hindustan Times.
BJP leader reacts
Bharatiya Janata Party leader Nishit Sharma said the university was encouraging radical elements.
He was quoted as saying by Hindustan Times: "The administration's role in this is shameful. A notice was circulated at the Sir Shah Sulaiman Hall stating that beef biryani would be served instead of chicken biryani."
"The notice was displayed publicly, and it was the responsibility of the senior food committee members. Such actions indicate that the administration is encouraging radical elements and covering up student misconduct," he said.
