All parties should stand together in support of border residents: Eknath Shinde
Nagpur/Mumbai/UNI: Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde on Monday appealed that all parties should stand together in support of border residents.
Shinde made a statement on the issue raised by Leader of Opposition Ajit Pawar in the state Legislative Assembly in Nagpur.
He said that the Center took serious note of the issue related to Marathi people and Marathi identity and convened the meeting. The state took a firm stand in this meeting.
In the recent meeting held by the Union Home Minister, it was informed that state trains are blocked at the border, which is not a matter of democracy.
"This type of incident should not happen under any circumstances. The dispute is pending in the Supreme Court.Therefore, a harmonious stance should be taken on this issue," Shinde said.
At this time, the Chief Minister informed the House that the government is positive for the border dwellers and in the cabinet meeting held on Sunday, an irrigation scheme worth Rs 2,000 crores has been approved for 48 villages.
