Andhra Pradesh: Ex-CM Chandrababu Naidu released from Rajahmundry Central prison
Former Chief Minister and Telugu Desam Party National President N Chandrababu Naidu, who was granted interim bail by the High Court on medical grounds this morning, was released from the central prison here on Tuesday.
A large number of TDP leaders, including party state president K Atchannaidu, MLAs G Butcchai Chowdary, N Balakrishna, Payyavula Keshav, Yeluri Sambashiva Rao, Naidu’s son and TDP national general secretary L Lokesh and his wife Brahmini received Naidu in front of the jail.
Chandrababu Naidu was freed after being in the prison for 52 days. The former CM was arrested and sent to judicial remand on September 10 in the alleged skill development scam case.
Talking to the media, Naidu reiterated that he did not make any mistake and he had not allowed others to do the same.
The TDP Chief said that political leaders and political parties extended solidarity to him and he thanked them.
He said that leaders including Jana Sena Chief K Pawan Kalyan, BJP, CPI and Congress leaders extended him their support and solidarity.
“I will never forget the support extended by the people of AP and Telangana states," Naidu said.
The former Chief Minsiter said the IT professionals who got benefit from the development which had been made when he was the Chief Minister of AP organized a massive demonstration in Hyderabad on the occasion of completion 25 years of the construction of the cyber tower and he thanked them.
“When I was in prison, the development which I had achieved as Chief Minister was exposed. Solidarity was extended by various individuals across the world,” Naidu said and thanked them.
Defying section 144, hundreds of TDP activists thronged to the Central prison area to see Chandrababu Naidu.
Later the TDP Chief left for Vijayawada.
