Bangladeshi actress-model Shanta Paul in possession with Indian documents arrested in Kolkata
Kolkata/IBNS: Bangladeshi actress-model Shanta Paul in possession with India's identity cards has been arrested from Kolkata, media reports said.

Shanta, who was in possession with Aadhar card, Ration card and Voter ID, was arrested from Kolkata's Bikramgarh area which falls under Golf Green Police Station.
She was living in India even after the expiry of her visa and passport.
Hailing from Bangladesh's Barishal, Shanta was produced before court on Wednesday.
She has been sent to police custody till August 8.
The 28-year-old started living in Bikramgarh renting a place in 2023 when she had come to India. She was living with a male partner.
Shanta's two Aadhaar cards- one in Kolkata address and the other in Burdwan- have been recovered.
The Aadhaar card in Burdwan's address was registered in 2020. She didn't reveal how she managed to get Indian documents.
However, Shanta claimed she wanted to begin a startup business.
Apart from Indian documents, several Bangladeshi documents including a number of Bangladeshi passport, airline ID have been recovered from the actress-model.
Apart from acting and modelling, Shanta also did anchoring and worked as an airhostess in Bangladesh.
In 2020, Shanta had levelled #MeToo allegations against director Rajiv Kumar Biswas.
Shanta's male partner is also being quizzed by police.
