Comedian Munawar Faruqui and 'Shraddha Walker killer' Aftab Poonawala on Lawrence Bishnoi's hitlist
Mumbai/IBNS: Comedian Munawar Faruqui and Aftab Poonawala, who is accused of murdering his girlfriend Shraddha Walker in Delhi in 2022, are on the hitlist of gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, who was the mastermind behind the killing of Nationalist Congress Party leader Baba Siddique, media reports said.
Police learnt it from Shivkumar Gautam alias Shiva, who was the main shooter in the Siddique murder, during an interrogation.
Gautam told police that wanted accused Shubham Lonkar was not happy with the delay of executing Siddique.
"Lonkar told Gautam that another module that he had assigned to target Faruqui may meet with success before them. This prompted Gautam and the other two shooters, Gurnail Singh and Dharamraj Kashyap, to expedite their task on Dussehra," said a cop as quoted by The Times of India.
In September, the group had checked into a Delhi hotel where Munawar was stationed.
Upon receiving intelligence, police foiled the attack. Munawar's security was also advanced.
The Bishnoi gang is angry at Munawar for his alleged remarks on Hindu deities.
Bollywood superstar Salman Khan, whose security has already been heightened, received multiple threats from the Lawrence Bishnoi gang which has an anger against the actor for allegedly killing two blackbucks in 1998.
The Bishnoi community worships blackbuck as a reincarnation of their spiritual guru, Jambheshwar.
Siddique was shot dead outside his son Zeeshan Siddique's office in Bandra East, Mumbai, on October 13.
