Congratulating Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, Nadda said the scheme would significantly improve the economic condition of women from poor families.
Addressing the media, Rekha Gupta said the Delhi Cabinet has unanimously approved the scheme along with a budget provision of Rs 5,100 crore.
"Our government is committed to ensuring the safety and prosperity of women in the city. This scheme will provide direct financial assistance of Rs 2,500 per month to women from low-income households," she said.
The chief minister also informed that a four-member committee, headed by her and including ministers Ashish Sood, Parvesh Verma, and Kapil Mishra, has been formed to oversee the scheme’s implementation.
The registration process for beneficiaries will begin immediately through a dedicated portal, and the terms and conditions for eligibility will be finalised soon, she added.
The Mahila Samriddhi Yojana is designed to ensure transparency and efficiency in fund disbursement.
According to a statement from the government, the scheme will use an Aadhaar-based e-KYC authentication process to verify applicants, ensuring seamless delivery of financial benefits.
In addition to the financial aid, the government also announced plans to strengthen women safety measures across the city.
Gupta said "one-stop centres" will be set up in all districts to provide police assistance, legal counselling, and other forms of support to women facing distress.
The BJP-led government is moving swiftly to implement its key poll promises, and this scheme is seen as a major step towards women empowerment and social security in the national capital.
