Delhi Hit-and-Run: Drunk driver arrested after he drives his Audi over five sleeping on footpath
A speeding Audi car, which was allegedly driven by a drunk man, ran over five pavement dwellers, including an eight-year-old girl, leaving them hurt in the Indian capital city of New Delhi, media reports said.

According to reports, they were all sleeping on the pavement in Vasant Vihar.
The incident reportedly occurred at around 1:45 a.m. on July 9.
The driver of the car was identified as a 40-year-old Utsav Shekhar
The Delhi-based realtor was arrested at the scene.
The mishap reportedly occurred when he was returning home from Noida.
Medical tests later confirmed he was under the influence of alcohol, police officials told India Today.
The victims were rushed to the local hospital for treatment.
Local media reports identified the victims as Ladhi (40), her daughter Bimla (8), husband Sabami alias Chirma (45), and Ram Chander (45), along with his wife Narayani (35).
A case has been lodged and an investigation is currently underway.
The incident brought back memories of a hit-and-run case which involved Bollywood actor Salman Khan.
The Bombay High Court in 2015 acquitted Khan, one of the prominent movie stars in India and known for working in several hit box office movies in his career, off all charges in connection with the 2002 hit-and-run case.
Before the High Court acquitted him, a Mumbai criminal court had found the actor guilty of culpable homicide and accused him of losing control of his Toyota Land Cruiser while driving in a drunk state in 2002.
At least one person died after the car hit people who were sleeping on a footpath in Mumbai.
Four people were injured in the mishap.
Khan had appealed against the sentence.
