DK Shivakumar offered me Rs. 100 crore to defame Modi: Arrested BJP leader G Devaraje Gowda on Karnataka sex scandal
Bengaluru/IBNS: Arrested Karnataka BJP leader G Devaraje Gowda has claimed Deputy Chief Minister of the state, DK Shivakumar, offered him Rs. 100 crore to defame Prime Minister Narendra Modi amid the pot boiling issue of sex scandal involving now suspended JDS leader Prajwal Revanna.
G Devaraje Gowda, who was the whistleblower of the sex scandal, claimed Shivakumar obtained the pen drives containing videos showing Prajwal- the grandson of former Prime Minister HD Deve Gowda- allegedly sexually abusing women.
Shivakumar, a Congress strongman, wanted to finish JDS chief HD Kumaraswamy politically, claimed Devaraje Gowda.
G Devaraje Gowda, who was arrested in a separate sexual assault case, said as quoted by NDTV, "I was told to make a statement that it was HD Kumaraswamy who circulated the pen drives containing sex videos.
"But it was DK Shivakumar who obtained the pen drive from Karthik Gowda, who worked as a driver for Prajwal Revanna, and planned the entire episode."
"They had planned in a big way to bring disrepute to Prime Minister Modi, HD Kumaraswamy, and the BJP. They offered me ₹ 100 crore and sent ₹ 5 crore as advance to Room No. 110 at Bowring Club. A local leader from Channarayapatna, Gopalaswamy, was sent to negotiate the deal," he added.
"DK Shivakumar made the ₹ 100 crore offer to malign the name of Prime Minister Modi by linking him to the sex scandal. Shivakumar's main objective is to finish Kumaraswamy politically," the arrested leader claimed.
The alleged scandal came to light after a woman filed a complaint against Prajwal Revanna over sexual assault. She accused the JDS leader of sexually abusing her on several occasions between 2019 and 2022.
Meanwhile, Prajwal's father and JDS MLA H.D. Revanna was arrested in connection with a case pertaining to kidnapping of one of the victims in the sex scandal.
