First 100 MW gas-insulated substation inaugurated in Arunachal Pradesh
Arunachal/IBNS: The Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (PGCIL) has marked a significant achievement with the inauguration of the state's first 133/32 KV gas-insulated substation (GIS) in Nirjuli, Papum Pare district.
With a capacity of 100 MW, this milestone substation is set to cater to the energy needs of the region for the next two to three decades, reports EastMojo.
Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein emphasized the importance of this development, highlighting its potential to reduce transmission losses and enhance overall quality of life.
The project aligns with the state government's commitment to sustainable growth, facilitating the drawing of transmission lines through forests and private lands.
This initiative, along with others, positions Arunachal Pradesh as an attractive investment destination, with anticipated substantial annual revenue upon project completion.
Furthermore, the impending completion of the 2,800 MW Dibang Multipurpose Project (DMP) is set to make Arunachal Pradesh a powerhouse in the region's energy landscape.
