Fully support India: US sends strong message to China on Tawang clash
Washington: The US on Tuesday slammed China over the recent conflict with India and said it continues to closely watch developments along the line of actual control at the India-China border at the Tawang Sector of Arunachal Pradesh.
Pentagon press secretary Pat Ryder sent out a strong message to China and said: " We have seen the PRC continue to amass forces and build military infrastructure along the so-called LAC."
"We will continue to remain steadfast in our commitment to ensuring the security of our partners. And we fully support India's ongoing efforts to deescalate this situation. Let me come back to the room," he said.
Indian and Chinese troops briefly clashed at the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in Arunachal Pradesh last week before disengaging, media reports said Monday.
The face-off took place on Dec 9 and led to "minor injuries to a few personnel from both sides".
Following the brief clash, the two sides "immediately disengaged from the area".
The face-off took place at the Tawang Sector of Arunachal Pradesh. Chinese troops crossed the LAC, which was contested by Indian soldiers in a "firm and resolute manner".
