G-20 meetings: 38 delegates arrived in Pune
Pune: Around 38 representatives of various countries arrived at Lohgaon Airport on Sunday this evening for the meeting of G20 which will held in Pune from January 16 onwards.
The delegates which include the representatives of G20 member countries like Australia, Brazil, South Africa, Netherlands, Switzerland, Indonesia, Spain, Singapore, France, Japan, Argentina and Germany. It also includes representatives of global organizations such as Coalition for Disaster Resilient Infrastructure, International Finance Corporation, European Union, Asian Development Bank, which are important for financial development and stability of the economy at the international level.
The delegates were welcomed by the Pune administration in a traditional manner by wearing Puneri turbans and giving shawls, with the sound of drums and trumpets.
Deputy Collector of Etiquette Department Amrit Natekar, Pune Municipal Corporation Deputy Commissioner Kishori Shinde, Airport Director Santosh Dhoke, Assistant Director Sanjay Dulare were present for the reception.
The administration has made great preparations to welcome the representatives of various countries coming for the meeting. Dhol tasha players, tutari players in elaborate costumes have been kept. The concept of 'Vasudhaiv Kutumbakam', which was decided for the G-20 conference, has been displayed everywhere.
While welcoming the delegates arriving for the G-20 conference with a special Maharashtrian culture, the Royal Etiquette Officer explained the purpose behind it, and the delegates, overwhelmed by the welcome, expressed their happiness by enthusiastically and loudly responding 'Namaste India'.
