INDIA bloc meeting today ahead of Parliament's monsoon session, AAP officially exits anti-Modi front

New Delhi/IBNS: The INDIA bloc will on Saturday hold a virtual meeting, a day after former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) officially exited the anti-Modi front, media reports said.
The meeting is being held just ahead of the monsoon session of Parliament set to begin on Monday.
AAP Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh on Friday cleared the party has officially left the alliance and won't take part in the meeting.
Singh said the INDIA bloc was formed for the 2024 Lok Sabha polls and the party fought all elections since the national elections alone.
In the upcoming session of Parliament, the opposition parties are likely to raise questions on the controversial voter revision drive in poll-bound Bihar and demand a discussion on the Pahalgam terror attack and Operation Sindoor.
Though the INDIA bloc managed to reduce the BJP's tally of seats from 303 to 240 in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, the opposition front was not seen holding meetings on too many occasions.
The same was reverberated in Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah's words too a few days ago.
Abdullah, who earlier this month met his West Bengal counterpart Mamata Banerjee, blamed the Congress for lack of meetings of INDIA bloc and said it was not his or the Trinamool Congress supremo's responsibility to strengthen the front.
"Neither me nor Mamata Banerjee have the primary responsibility to strengthen the INDIA bloc. The biggest ally in the group must take the primary responsibility.
"I regret that our allies do not meet frequently. The last time we met was at Mallikarjun Kharge's residence after the elections. But we didn't meet after that," the National Conference leader, who runs a coalition government with Congress in J&K, said.
Though TMC, an important part of the INDIA bloc, initially said it would skip the July 19 meeting but later its was informed that the party's national general secretary Abhishek Banerjee will join virtually.
