India expresses deep concern over Israeli strikes on Qatar, urges restraint
The Indian government on Tuesday expressed 'deep concern' over Israeli strikes on Qatar, targeting Hamas leadership.

In a statement, India's Ministry of External Affairs said: "We have seen reports about the Israeli strikes in Doha earlier today. We are deeply concerned by this development and its impact on the security situation in the region.”
“We strongly urge restraint and diplomacy, so that peace and security in the region are not endangered,” the MEA said.
Hamas group confirmed on Tuesday that five of its members were killed, but none were members of the negotiating team, in the Israeli strike on Qatar, an incident that can trigger a fresh conflict in the region.
“We affirm the enemy’s failure to assassinate the brothers in the negotiating delegation,” the group said in a statement as quoted by CNN.
One of the key targets of the strike was Hamas’ chief negotiator Khalil Al-Hayya.
However, his name did not feature in the list of deceased people.
According to Hamas, Al-Hayya’s son and the director of his office were killed in the strike, CNN reported.
A Qatari official was reported killed in the strike.
“The targeting of the negotiating delegation, at a moment when discussions are taking place regarding the recent proposal from US President Donald Trump, confirms without a doubt that Netanyahu and his government do not want to reach any agreement,” Hamas said.
