India-Middle East-Europe Corridor will lead to India’s progress: Jagdeep Dhankhar

Jhunjhunu (Rajasthan)/IBNS/UNI: Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar Wednesday said the inclusion of the African Union in the G20 and the formation of the India-Middle East-Europe Economic Corridor will prove to be a game changer for the country’s progress.

Interacting with the staff, faculty, and students of BITS Pilani, Dhankar said the Chairman of the World Bank said at the G20 conference that the economic progress India has made in the last five years was not possible even in 47 years.

He said the country’s digital transactions are four times that of developed countries like the USA, UK, and Germany, among others.

India's data consumption is more than that of China and the USA, and the number of startups and unicorns in the country has left behind China, he said.

Dhankhar said there are no more power brokers in government work, and money is directly transferred to the accounts of beneficiaries of government schemes. "There are no more impediments like brokers, middlemen, commissions and cut money".

He said the world is amazed to see this change.

The Vice President said: "We are in that period of history where the idea of making everything possible is working"

Dhankhar, however, said he doesn’t understand why some people get upset after seeing the development of the country.

"To express our views, and to create space, we travel around the world. Now somewhere someone will be found to listen but the answer to this has to be given to the people of the country," he said.

During his address, the Vice President also made three announcements from the stage, including the signing of an MoU, the draft of which will be finalised later, between the Indian Council of World Affairs, of which the Vice President was himself the chairman and BITS.

Fifty to hundred students of BITS will visit Bharat Mandapam Yashobhoomi, New Parliament House, Prime Minister Museum, and War Memorial among others as guests of the Vice President.
