India strengthens diplomatic ties: Jaishankar to visit Israel following UAE dialogue

Indian External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar will visit Israel on Monday, following meetings with top leaders of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), the Ministry of External Affairs said.

In a statement, Jaishankar noted that he will hold bilateral consultations with his Israeli counterpart, Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar, during the visit.

Earlier, Jaishankar attended the Sir Bani Yas Forum in Abu Dhabi, where he co-chaired the 16th India-UAE Joint Commission and the 5th Strategic Dialogue with Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the UAE.

On Sunday, the minister extended Hanukkah greetings to his Israeli counterpart. He wrote on X:

"Warmest wishes to FM @gidonsaar, friends in Israel, and all those celebrating #Hanukkah around the world. May the Festival of Lights bring peace, hope, and joy to all. Chag Sameach!"

During his time in the UAE, Jaishankar also held meetings with several European and international counterparts on the sidelines of the high-level summit.

He met Luxembourg’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Xavier Bettel, Poland’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski, and Latvia’s Foreign Minister Baiba Braze. Jaishankar tweeted:

"Great to be with European colleagues DPM & FM @Xavier_Bettel of Luxembourg, DPM & FM @sikorskiradek of Poland, and FM @Braze_Baiba of Latvia."

In addition, he met Egypt’s Foreign Minister Dr. Badr Abdelatty and UK Deputy Prime Minister David Lammy, tweeting:
"Good to see UK DPM @DavidLammy on the sidelines of Sir Bani Yas Forum 2025."
