"One terrorist has been neutralised by the security forces so far," the security forces said.
Security forces said the operation is currently underway.
The Indian security forces recently conducted Operation Mahadev in Jammu and Kashmir when three terrorists were killed.
The attack assumed significance since all three terrorists killed in the attack were involved in the Pahalgam terror attack on April 22.
The Operation Mahadev was carried out by the Army, CRPF personnel and Jammu and Kashmir Police.
Speaking in the Parliament, Indian Home Minister Amit Shah said, "I would like to share the details of Operation Mahadev, which took place yesterday. Three terrorists — Suleiman Shah, a top Lashkar-e-Taiba commander, along with Jibran and Hamza Afghani — were successfully eliminated. Suleiman was an ‘A’ category terrorist, deeply involved in the Pahalgam and Gagangir terror attacks."
"Our intelligence agencies have substantial evidence of his role. Both Hamza Afghani and Jibran were also classified as ‘A’ grade terrorists, posing a serious threat to national security," he said.
