Influencer Sharmishta Panoli's complainant Wajahat Khan denied bail by Kolkata court
Kolkata/IBNS: A Kolkata court on Tuesday denied bail to Wajahat Khan, who had filed a complaint against influencer Sharmishta Panoli, media reports said.

Panoli, who has been granted an interim bail, was arrested on the basis of Khan's complaint in Gurugram on May 30 for allegedly spreading hate speech and hurting religious sentiments through social media.
Khan, who was on the run since June 1, was nabbed on 8th of the same month also for allegedly spreading hate speech.
A case was filed against Khan in Golfgreen Police Station.
Three notices were sent to his residence in Garden Reach by police but Khan evaded all of them.
After Panoli's arrest, Khan went missing. Khan's father Saadat Khan claimed the family has been receiving threats ever since Panoli was arrested.
Khan had allegedly used derogatory terms against Hindus on the internet. He had also allegedly targeted Hindu deities and passed "unacceptable comments against Devi Maa Kamakhya".
Following Panoli's arrest, multiple FIRs were filed against Khan in West Bengal, Assam and Delhi.
A team of Assam Police had reached Kolkata with an arrest warrant for Khan over his alleged remark against Devi Maa Kamakhya.
Panoli, a Pune-based law student, had earlier tendered an apology for the comments that had sparked widespread online outrage.
In the Instagram video, which has now been deleted, the law student had reportedly slammed Bollywood celebrities for their silence on "Operation Sindoor."
According to reports, her “disrespectful and derogatory” remarks in the video were directed at a particular religion.
After the video triggered an online outrage, an FIR was lodged against her.
