Durg (Chhattisgarh)/IBNS: Drawing the battle lines for the 2024 general election, which promises to be a political conflict of unprecedented dimensions, Union Home Affairs and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah averred on Thursday that the electorate would have a prime ministerial choice between present incumbent Narendra Modi and Rahul Gandhi whom the Congress is tom-toming for the top post.

Addressing a public meeting assembly poll-bound Chhattisgarh's Durg town, the Home minister highlighted the Modi dispensation’s achievements and said, “On the contrary, the predecessor Manmohan Singh regime witnessed massive corruption including scams during its decadal tenure that was pockmarked by terrorist incidents including the decapitation of our soldiers."

"Pakistan became habituated to attacking us. Congress governments failed to abrogate Article 370 for decades together and had placed the Ram temple construction issue on the back burner,” he said.

Shah said that the people of Chhattisgarh have decided to dethrone the Congress government in the upcoming assembly election.

He urged the people to vote out Baghel and bring PM Modi to power for the third consecutive term in the 2024 general elections.

He accused the Congress government of betraying the people and highlighted all those unfulfilled promises that the grand old party made ahead of the last assembly polls.

He mentioned that Congress had pledged to ban liquor in the state but instead started home delivery.

Chhattisgarh goes to polls in November this year and is considered crucial for both Congress and BJP ahead of the 2024 general elections.
