Jammu and Kashmir: Uri hosts five-day ‘Say No to Drugs’ campaign
Jammu and Kashmir's Uri region recently hosted a five-day ‘Say No to Drugs’ campaign with an aim to eradicate the drug menace from society.
Hosted in Balkote village, the event was organized by Rustam Battalion of the Pir Panjal Brigade in collaboration with the Uri Foundation.
In a statement issued here, Army said that the transformative initiative aimed to raise awareness and educate about the perils of drug abuse while fostering a community committed to a drug-free future, reports Daily Excelsior.
The event which commenced from August 7, witnessed the participation of Aijaz Bhatt, a psychiatrist from GMC Baramulla, and Advocate Mumtaz Ahmad from Uri.
They shared insights into the consequences of drug addiction and the legal implications of drug trafficking.
Abrar Bhat, chief coordinator of Uri Foundation NGO expressed gratitude for the active participation of villagers and lauded the Indian Army’s role in eradicating the drug menace.
