Mamata Banerjee to launch Trinamool Congress outreach programme on Jan 2
Kolkata/UNI: The All India Trinamool Congress (AITC) will on Monday, Jan 2, launch an outreach programme to showcase the multifaceted package of social welfare schemes that the West Bengal government has to offer.
Party chairperson Mamata Banerjee will address party activists, including MPs, MLAs and state ministers.
Officials of the state, district and block committees, along with members from women and Youth arms of the party, will also be present at the event.
Dubbed to be a party workers’ convention, Monday’s event at Nazrul Mancha comes close on the heels of the 25th anniversary of Trinamool Congress, which was formed in January 1998, when Banerjee broke away from the Congress to form her party.
“Mamata Banerjee and National General Secretary Abhishek Banerjee will make important announcements, and will launch a comprehensive outreach programme that will reach out to crores of households across the wide expanse of state, including over 3,000-gram panchayats,” said a senior leader, who did not wish to be identified.
Incidentally, before the 2021 Bengal Elections, Trinamool had launched similar outreach events like ‘Didi Ke Bolo’, ‘Banglar Gorbo Mamata’ and ‘Bangla Nijer Meyeke Chaai’. These programmes had earned rich dividends for the party, which returned to power for the third time with a sweeping majority.
“The outreach programme will be attended by senior lawmakers and more than 3.5 lakh party workers, to ensure that no resident of Bengal is left behind in accessing the social welfare schemes provided by the Bengal government. The one-of-a-kind outreach campaign takes a modern approach in implementing these measures. More will be revealed on Monday,” the leader added.
