'Met PM Modi when he was doing MA': Journalist Sheela Bhatt
New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi was doing his MA in 1981 when veteran journalist Sheela Bhatt met him, she told news agency ANI.
Modi was in his second year of MA in 1981 when she met him, she told ANI in an interview.
In an interview with Smita Prakash, Editor of the news agency ANI, Sheela Bhatt said, “I met Modi for the first time in 1981 when he was doing his MA Part II. His mentor was Prof Pravin Sheth, who was also my mentor. He was very studious."
Bhatt said this referring to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and Congress raising questions about the PM’s educational qualifications.
She added, “I remember one of his classmates, who is a lawyer now. I called her some time ago when Arvind Kejriwal and Congress were posting a lot on Twitter, calling PM Modi illiterate. I asked her to speak up but she chose to stay quiet.”

Arvind Kejriwal has persistently attacked PM Modi over his educational qualifications in the past and has sought the proof of the validity of Prime Minister’s degrees.
“The Gujarat HC’s order has raised a lot of questions in peoples’ minds. They have now started speculations about the PM’s degrees being fake altogether,” Kejriwal had said after the court’s move to dismiss the Chief Information Commissioner (CIC)’s 2016 order directing Gujarat University to provide information on PM Modi’s MA degree.
On the court’s verdict, Congress leader Jairam Ramesh had tweeted, “There is a limit to even transparency in New India. This is what the ‘Entire Political Science’ teaches.”
Delhi Chief Minister and AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal filed a review petition with Gujarat High Court seeking a review of its recent order subserving the Central Information Commission's order to the Gujarat University to give information on Prime Minister Narendra Modi's degree to him.
