‘Model of loot in full display’: BJP, Congress attack Delhi's AAP govt over CAG report
New Delhi: BJP national president J P Nadda launched a scathing critique of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Saturday, alleging that the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) report on Delhi’s excise policy highlights deliberate lapses, resulting in a Rs 2,026 crore loss to the exchequer, media reports said.

“Intoxicated by power, high on misgovernance. 'AAP'DA model of loot in full display and that too on something like liquor,” Nadda stated on X, adding that the AAP government would soon face electoral rejection and be held accountable for its actions.
Referring to the allegations, Nadda posted, "CAG Report on 'Liquorgate' exposes @ArvindKejriwal and @AamAadmiParty Gov. Intentional 'Lapses' in Policy Implementation. Rs 2026 Cr Loss to Exchequer money."

Just a matter of a few weeks before they are voted out and punished for their misdeeds.
CAG Report on 'Liquorgate' exposes @ArvindKejriwal and…
However, the CAG report Nadda referenced has not yet been officially tabled. So far, only excerpts of the report have been emerged in the media.
The controversy stems from the scrapped excise policy, under which former Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and his deputy Manish Sisodia were arrested by the Enforcement Directorate for alleged corruption.
Both leaders spent months in custody before being released on bail.
Congress joins the criticism; AAP responds
Congress also joined the fray, with senior leader Sandeep Dikshit accusing Kejriwal of wrongdoing.
"CAG has said that there has been a scam of Rs 2,000 crore in the liquor policy... It is now clear he (Arvind Kejriwal) has done wrong... He has emptied the government treasury. If Rs 2,000 crore were lost in six months, continuing the policy could have cost Rs 10,000–12,000 crore," Dikshit told ANI.
According to a Hindustan Times report, AAP’s Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh dismissed the allegations as baseless, stating, "Where is the report? The BJP itself keeps saying no CAG report has been tabled."
Delhi Assembly elections are set for February 5, with results to be declared on February 8.
