Modi praises Sisi's role in Gaza truce deal during his meeting with visiting Egyptian FM Badr Abdelatty
Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty on Friday met PM Narendra Modi in New Delhi, when the Indian leader conveyed his warm congratulations to President Sisi for Egypt’s crucial role in the Gaza Peace Agreement and expressed hope that it would lead to lasting peace in the region.

The meeting occurred just days after Hamas members released all 20 living Israeli hostages as part of the ceasefire deal reached between the two sides.
Modi had received an official invitation from Sisi to attend the Gaza Peace Summit that was held in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt.
Modi did not attend the meeting. Indian Minister of State Kirti Vardhan Singh represented the nation at the Summit.
Several world leaders, including US President Donald Trump, attended the Summit to discuss mechanisms to enforce and monitor the ceasefire between Israel and Hamas.
"Foreign Minister Abdelatty briefed Prime Minister on the first India-Egypt Strategic Dialogue being held during his visit," read a statement issued by the Indian PM's Office.
Prime Minister Modi expressed satisfaction at the progress being achieved in various areas of bilateral cooperation, including trade, technology, energy, defence and people-to-people ties.
After the meeting, Modi wrote on X: "Pleased to receive Foreign Minister of Egypt, Dr. Badr Abdelatty. Conveyed deep appreciation for my friend, President Sisi for his crucial role in the Gaza Peace Agreement."
