Narendra Modi slams Mamata Banerjee over her alleged remarks against ISKCON, Ramakrishna Mission,BSS
Ahead of the fifth phase of the Lok Sabha polls, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday slammed West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee for her alleged threat to Hindu religious organisations like ISKCON, Ramakrishna Mission, and Bharat Sevashram Sangh.
Modi, who is eyeing to return to power for third straight term, said the countrymen would not pardon the TMC leader for her open warning to these institutions.
"What happened to the TMC leader? Her appeasement policy has come to such a low that Guru Prabhupada-founded ISKCON, Swami Vivekananda-founded Ramakrishna Mission and Swami Pranabananda-founded Bharat Sevashram institutions have come under attack from the Bengal government, " Modi was quoted as saying by the media while addressing an election rally in West Bengal.
He said these religious organisations are known for rendering service to humanity across the world.
"TMC has stooped to such a low level,” he added.
He said TMC was interested in vote bank politics.
Modi campaigned in the state at a time when the country is gearing up for the fifth phase of the Lok Sabha polls.
Modi and his Bharatiya Janata Party is gearing up to return to power for the third stright term, a rare feat in Indian politics.
In 2014, Modi had come to power for the first time by beating the Congress-led UPA government which was ruling the nation for two straight term.
