Pakistan Army violates ceasefire along LoC, suffers 'heavy casualties' after Indian troops retaliate

Srinagar/IBNS: The Pakistan Army suffered 'heavy casualties' after its ceasefire violation along the Line of Control [LoC] was retaliated by the Indian soldiers in the Mendhar sector of Jammu and Kashmir's Poonch district on Wednesday evening, media reports said.
The extent of the casualties on the Pakistan side is not yet clear.
The Pakistani troops opened 10 to 15 rounds without any provocation in a rare ceasefire violation in recent times.
India and Pakistan, the two arch-rivals, renewed their ceasefire agreement on February 25, 2021.
Two Indian soldiers were killed in action after terrorists launched a suspected Improvised Explosive Device [IED] in the Akhnoor sector of Jammu and Kashmir on February 11.
A day prior to that attack, one soldier was critically injured along the LoC by gunfire in the Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir.
