Parliament: 'The country has rejected negativity,' says PM Modi on BJP's thumping win
New Delhi/IBNS: "The country has rejected negativity," said Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday basking on the success of the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)'s sweeping victory in the Hindi heartland a day ago.
In his remarks at the start of Parliament's Winter Session, Modi said, "The election results of four states which came out yesterday are very encouraging! These results are encouraging for those who are committed to the welfare of the common man of the country, who are dedicated to the bright future of the country.
"The empowerment and concrete plans for building the bright future of the women, youth, farmers and the poor of the country received immense support."
Our country has rejected negativity!

This temple of democracy is a significant platform for people's aspirations... we look forward to everyone's cooperation.
I urge all the honorable MPs to come with maximum preparation and to have in-depth discussion on whatever bills are… pic.twitter.com/ZScxL6wXGC
"We have seen that when good governance is ensured, the word 'anti-incumbency' becomes irrelevant. After such a wonderful mandate, today, we are meeting in this new temple of Parliament!
"When this new campus was inaugurated, there was a small session and a historic decision was taken. But this time, there will be a great and comprehensive opportunity to work in this House," the Prime Minister, who was cheered by his party MPs in the Lok Sabha, added.
Modi-driven BJP returned to power in Madhya Pradesh, wrested back Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh from arch-rival Congress winning three out of five states, which went to polls on different dates in November.
While the Congress has been wiped out of the Hindi heartland which it won five years ago, the grand old party pulled off a victory in the southern state of Telangana, which was under the rule of the powerful regional party Bharat Rashtra Samithi.
