PM Modi bestowed Dominica's highest award at India-CARICOM Summit
Georgetown/IBNS: Prime Minister Narendra Modi was honoured with Dominica's highest national award, the Dominica National Award of Honour, at the historic India-CARICOM Summit 2024.
Dominica President Sylvanie Burton conferred PM Modi with the award for his statesmanship, support to Dominica during the Covid-19 pandemic, and his commitment to strengthening India and Dominica ties.

Dedicating the honour to the people of India, PM Modi said the deep-rooted historical and cultural ties between India and Dominica.
He expressed confidence that the bilateral bond between the two nations will continue to grow and deepen in the years ahead.
The award ceremony was held on the sidelines of the Second India-CARICOM Summit in Georgetown, Guyana.
During his visit, PM Modi also met with Dominica Prime Minister Roosevelt Skeritt on the sidelines of the 2nd India-CARICOM Summit in Georgetown, Guyana.

The leaders discussed exploring opportunities for cooperation in fields like climate resilience, digital transformation, education, healthcare, capacity building and yoga. They also exchanged views on issues of the Global South and UN reform.
