Police arrest man from Noida for allegedly giving death threats to Salman Khan, Baba Siddique
A 20-year-old person was arrested from Noida for allegedly giving death threats to Bollywood star Salman Khan and NCP (Ajit Pawar) leader Baba Siddique's son Zeeshan Siddiqui.
Baba Siddique was shot dead earlier this month.
According to police, Mumbai Police have taken him into custody.
Police sources told NDTV Zeeshan Siddique's office in Bandra received messages on Friday evening, threatening Salman Khan and the MLA of death unless they paid a ransom.
A staff of Zeeshan Siddiqui's office filed a case after receiving the messages.
Police identified the man behind the threats as Mohammed Tayyab.
A vegetable seller from Jamshedpur was earlier arrested days after he issued a death threat to Salman Khan demanding Rs. 5 crore from him.
The accused, who has been identified as Shaikh Hussain Shaikh Mausin (24), demanded Rs. 5 crore from the actor to "end the enmity" with gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, whose team took the responsibility of the murder of Nationalist Congress Party leader Baba Siddique.
The actor, who was a close friend of Baba Siddique, had his security escalated after the politician's murder.
After Siddique's murder, one of the Bishnoi gang members shared a post on Facebook where he hinted at Siddique's close ties with Salman and links to underworld people that cost him his life.
On the night of April 14, gunfire shook Mumbai's Bandra neighbourhood when two men on motorbikes fired multiple rounds outside Salman Khan's residence.
The attackers, linked to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, were charged with conspiracy to murder and other serious crimes.
