RG Kar rape-murder case: Accused civic volunteer's phone was full of porn materials, told cops 'hang me if you want'
Kolkata/IBNS: Civic volunteer Sanjoy Roy, who has been accused of raping and murdering 31-year-old medical student at Kolkata's RG Kar Medical College and Hospital, admitted his crime to police soon after quizzing started, asked cops to hang him as punishment showing no remorse for what he allegedly did to the trainee doctor.
"Hang me if you want," said Sanjay, who was a civic volunteer working with Kolkata Police but had a free entry into the state-run hospital, which is located in North Kolkata.
As per local reports, the accused, who was caught on CCTV camera entering into the Emergency Building of the hospital, had his phone stored with pornographic materials.
Police were led to the arrest of Sanjoy Roy by a bluetooth headset which was lying next to the victim's body.
The same bluetooth headset was seen on Sanjoy's neck while entering the building but was missing when he left.
The body of the 31-year-old post-graduate student had injury marks and was recovered under mysterious conditions.
The victim, who hailed from Sodepur near Kolkata, and was pursuing her post-graduation in Chest Medicine. She was on duty on Thursday night.
The initial autopsy report found her body had several injury marks.
The report states that the victim was bleeding from eyes, mouth and private parts. Injury marks were visible on the face, lips, neck, nails, stomach, right-hand ring finger, left leg and left leg ankle, reported The Telegraph.
