Sexual harassment case: Court summons WFI Prez Brij Bhushan
New Delhi: A Delhi Court, after taking cognizance of the chargesheet in the alleged sexual harassment case filed against BJP MP and Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) President Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, has issued summons for his appearance on July 18.
Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (ACMM) Harjeet Singh Jaspal adjourned the matter for July 18 after taking cognizance of the chargesheet.
In the matter, the court has also issued summons to Vinod Tomar, Singh's Assistant Secretary.
Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) Mahima Rai Singh on June 22 after hearing the submission on behalf of the Public Prosecutor, transferred the chargesheet to the ACMM's court for hearing.
Delhi Police had filed a chargesheet under sections 354 (Assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty), 354A (sexual harassment), 354D (stalking) and 506 (criminal intimidation) defined under Indian Penal Code (IPC) against Singh on June 15.
