State govt is working to control fake fertilizers and seed sellers: Maharashtra Deputy CM Ajit Pawar
Mumbai/UNI: Maharashtra Deputy Chief and Finance Minister Ajit Pawar on Wednesday informed all the farmers of Maharashtra that the central government has given a subsidy of Rs.1,30,000 crore to keep the prices of fertilizers under control.
Informing in the state assembly Pawar said, on behalf of the Agriculture Department, action has been taken regarding the sale of bogus seeds and fertilizers.
He said 164 MT stock of seeds has been seized. 22 police cases have been registered. Licenses of 20 vendors have been cancelled and Licenses of 105 vendors have been suspended.
The quality control department has seized 190 Tonnes of stock regarding fertilizers. 13 police cases have been filed in this regard. The licenses of 52 vendors have been cancelled and licenses of 210 vendors have been suspended.
Apart from this, in the meeting held under the chairmanship of the Chief Minister in the previous cabinet, a committee was formed with the Minister of Agriculture, Minister of Revenue, Minister of Rural Development and Minister of Water Supply, he said.
Keeping in mind the previous laws of action, strict action was not taken against bogus fertilizer and seed sellers, that is why this committee has been constituted, this has informed by the Agriculture Minister Dhananjay Munde to house of assembly, a strict law will be introduced before the end of the session and the state government is working to control the bogus fertilizer and seed sellers, Pawar gave this confidence to the farmers.
