'Stop this drama or...': Raj Thackeray's MNS warns Seema Haider over her Bollywood debut
Noida: Raj Thackeray's Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) party has issued a warning to Pakistani national Seema Haider, who sneaked into India to be with her Indian partner, over her Bollywood debut 'Karachi to Noida', media reports said.
Haider hit headlines earlier this year when it came to light that she crossed the border and reached Uttar Pradesh’s Noida along with her four children to live with Sachin Meena, with whom got close while playing PubG.
Despite being married, Seema left her home with her four children and reached Nepal where she met Sachin in person. After living in Kathmandu for some days, she came to India on May 13, illegally, without a visa.
She is now acting in a film produced by a Noida-based producer, Amit Jani, on her dramatic story.
"We want to tell the world how this love story unfolded while playing PUBG, how and why she came to India. We want to convey these elements in our film. So, that's why we are gathering every detail about Seema Haider," Amit Jani said, according to India Today.
However, Seema’s Bollywood debut has drawn the ire of MNS.
Party leader Ameya Khopkar, gave a stern warning, calling it “a drama” that “should be stopped" or else MNS will take action.
“Pakistani citizens have no place in the Indian film industry. We stand firm on this stance. Seema Haider, a Pakistani woman, is currently in India. There were even rumours that she is an ISI agent. For some fleeting fame in our industry, they are trying to turn Seema Haider into an actress. How can these traitorous producers not feel ashamed? Put an end to this immediately, or be prepared for resolute action from MNS,” Ameya Khopkar tweeted in Marathi, said the report.
Recently, a video of Seema’s audition for 'Karachi to Noida' has gone viral.
The producer of the film even called her ex-husband, Ghulam Haider, to India to learn more about her life, said the report.
As per media reports, Seema and Sachin claim to have made each other’s acquaintance while playing PubG in 2019-20, a popular online game. Subsequently, they started to talk over WhatsApp and Instagram and fell in love. Despite being married, Seema left her home with her four children and reached Nepal where she met Sachin in person. After living in Kathmandu for some days, she came to India on May 13, illegally, without a visa.
Thirty-year-old Seema Haider says that she is in love with Sachin Meena (22), a resident of Greater Noida, and states that she arrived in India with her four children to be with him. She also claims to have converted to Hinduism and got married to Meena through Hindu rituals at the Pashupatinath temple in Kathmandu, Nepal.
On July 4, Seema Haider was arrested by the local police for illegally entering India, and Sachin Meena was held for sheltering illegal immigrants. However, they were both granted bail by a local court on July 7 and have been living together, along with her four children, in a house in Rabupura.
She is being investigated by the Noida police in connection with her illegal stay in India and the questioning by the Anti-Terrorist Squad of Uttar Pradesh Police.
Fearing that she could be deported to Pakistan, Seema has sought permission for herself and her four children to reside at her "matrimonial home" in Greater Noida’s Rabpura with Sachin Meena in a mercy petition with President Droupadi Murmu.
