Venezuelan Executive Vice President Delcy Rodríguez hopes to see strengthened economic and commercial relationship with India
Executive Vice President of Venezuela Delcy Rodríguez, who had recently visited India to attend the 9th CII India – LAC Conclave, has said both nations need to increase their economic and commercial bonds, which will help in strengthening the relationship.
Speaking to ANI, the Minister said that the Latin American country is participating with a “big delegation” and that she is “very happy” to be in India.
“Venezuela is participating with a big delegation in this important economic meeting. We bring the message from President [Nicolas] Maduro and from our people also to strengthen our bonds between India and our region, Latin America and the Caribbean. So we are very happy to be in India right now,” Rodriguez was quoted as saying by the news agency.
“We have to increase our economic bond and commercial also. As you know we have traded with India. We have imports of medicines, chemicals. We have bilateral meetings with bilateral agenda to strengthen our relationship,” she added.
She said all areas, including issues related to the oil sector, were discussed during meetings with Indian officials.
She was visiting India to attend the ninth Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) India-LAC Conclave from Aug 3- Aug 4.
Rodriguez also met Indian External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar and exchanged perspectives on the global situation with him.
