Violence witnessed during 1947 Partition still happening in Pakistan, Bangladesh: Yogi Adityanath

Lucknow/IBNS: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has recounted the horrors of 1947 Partition of India claiming the nature of incidents is still prevalent in two neighbouring countries, Pakistan and Bangladesh, media reports said.

"The date and faces might have changed but the nature of incidents is the same as 1947. It is still happening in Pakistan. It is happening in Bangladesh," Adityanath said as quoted by The Indian Express.

"Either it would merge with India or Pakistan would be finished forever…As one that does not have any real existence in the spiritual world would have to be finished," the Chief Minister added.

Adityanath made the remark at a silent march with his two deputies, Keshav Prasad Maurya and Brajesh Pathak.

Speaking about the alleged violence against the Hindus, Adityanath said the partition was the result of the political leadership at that time.

"So-called secularists in India are also unable to say a word as they fear that if they speak against these helpless people then their vote bank would shift. Out of fear of vote banks, they have kept humanity aside," he added.

"If the then political leadership had set an example of some assertiveness, there was no power in the world that could have given shape to Partition," he said as quoted by The Indian Express.

Hindu people and their homes, temples faced massive attack from unruly mobs recently in Bangladesh after Sheikh Hasina's stepping down as the Prime Minister and fleeing to India.

In a complete anarchy, houses, temples were torched and brought down leaving several Hindus homeless.
