We believe India-UK relationship will be significantly boosted by PM's upcoming visit: Vikram Doraiswami
India's High Commissioner to the UK Vikram Doraiswami has said Narendra Modi's visit to the country will significantly boost the relationship between the two nations.

He told ANI news agency: "We believe the India-UK relationship will be significantly boosted by the PM's upcoming visit."
"Even though it is a short visit, we think the opportunity is considerable for the relationship to be moved to the next level. The PM is visiting here after almost four years...The focus is really on looking at where next we can take the relationship, whether it is on trade or technology or defence partnerships and indeed where do we see the next big idea for the India-UK relationship," he said.
The Indian envoy further said, "So, the discussions between the two PMs should generate some consensus around where the two governments want to take the relationship. We think the future-oriented relationship is where the relationship is going to come out."
He said his office is trying to prepare for Modi's visit to the country.
"My colleagues and I have been extremely busy, trying to put everything together. As I said, the visit is being worked at short notice. But there is great enthusiasm not only in my team but my colleagues back in India who are working on the visit and also here among our British partners to make sure that this is a substantive, focused visit," Doraiswami said.
Narendra Modi will visit the UK on Wednesday at the invitation of British PM Keir Starmer.
This will be the fourth visit of the PM to the UK.
He will visit the nation on July 23-July 24.
According to reports, Modi's visit to the UK is taking place at a time when the two nations are waiting to seal the Free Trade Agreement (FTA).
During the visit, Prime Minister Modi will hold wide ranging discussions with Prime Minister Starmer on the entire gamut of India-UK bilateral relations, the Ministry of External Affairs said.
They will also exchange views on issues of regional and global importance. Prime Minister is also expected to call on His Majesty King Charles III.
During the visit, the two sides will also review the progress of the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership (CSP) with a specific focus on trade and economy, technology and innovation, defence and security, climate, health, education and people-to-people ties.
