We will strengthen great partnership with India and 'good friend' Modi: Donald Trump
Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump on Thursday said if he is voted back to power then his administration will strengthen great partnership with India.
Calling PM Narendra Modi a 'good friend', Trump posted in his Diwali message on X: "We will also protect Hindu Americans against the anti-religion agenda of the radical left. We will fight for your freedom. Under my administration, we will also strengthen our great partnership with India and my good friend, Prime Minister Modi."
I strongly condemn the barbaric violence against Hindus, Christians, and other minorities who are getting attacked and looted by mobs in Bangladesh, which remains in a total state of chaos.

During Trump's tenure, he visited India and participated in the 'Namaste Trump' event at the Narendra Modi cricket stadium in Ahmedabad in 2020.
In his X post, Trump condemned the 'barbaric violence' which occurred against minority community members this year following the fall of former PM SHeikh Hasina-led government in Bangladesh.
He said: "I strongly condemn the barbaric violence against Hindus, Christians, and other minorities who are getting attacked and looted by mobs in Bangladesh, which remains in a total state of chaos."
In August this year, shops, temples and houses belonging to the Hindu community members were vandalised by radicals during the massive protest in Bangladesh which initially began as a student protest against a controversial quota system but soon spiralled into a massive movement against former PM Sheikh Hasina's government.
Amid violent demonstrations, Hasina fled to India on August 5, leading to the end of her regime.
She had returned to power earlier this year for another term after winning the general polls.
Trump alleged that US Vice-President Kamala Harris and President Joe Biden have ignored Hindus across the world.
"It would have never happened on my watch. Kamala and Joe have ignored Hindus across the world and in America. They have been a disaster from Israel to Ukraine to our own Southern Border, but we will Make America Strong Again and bring back Peace through Strength!" he said.
Donald Trump and Harris will contest in the upcoming US presidential polls this month.
