Assam Rifles commemorates national sports day across Tripura, Assam and Manipur
Assam Rifles, in its commitment to nurture sports, fitness, and youth engagement, commemorated National Sports Day on 31 Aug 25 across multiple locations in the states of Tripura, Assam and Manipur, honouring the birth anniversary of hockey legend Major Dhyan Chand.
At Udaipur, Tripura, Assam Rifles Public School organised a cricket match preceded by the Fit India Pledge. Students showcased sporting talent, energy and teamwork.
At Radhanagar, Tripura, a 20 km Cycle Rally was organised with enthusiastic participation from youth spreading awareness about fitness, endurance, and healthy living.
At Haflong and Lokra in Assam and Jiribam in Manipur community centric sports activities and fitness drives were conducted to promote sports and fitness.
These initiatives reaffirm Assam Rifles role not only in ensuring security but also in promoting sports thus maintaining bonds with the local population across the region.
