He also requested the Central government through the governor's good office to continue with the same.
"I take the opportunity to enumerate the most important ones of them; to maintain the territorial integrity of Manipur which has a rich and diverse civilizational history over thousands of years. To crack down on border infiltration and to formulate policy for the deportation of the illegal immigrants. To continue the fight against drugs and narco terrorism. To continue the stringent and fool-r proof revised mechanism of FMR with the biometric being stringently applied. Time bound and faster border which is underway".

However, sources say that Speaker Thokchom Satyabrata is likely to be the chosen as the next CM. Chosing the next CM will be a difficult task as BJP being the majority in the state assembly election and the division among BJP and other party MLAs. Coming days is crucial for the state as, who the next CM will be, a Biren’s aid or from the groups of those who had been revolting, or a neutral one whom the BJP and other party MLAs and Kuki MLAs are willing to support.
