Myanmar nationals deported back from Manipur

Imphal: The Manipur government on Thursday deported back 38 Myanmar nationals including women and children to their country who had entered into Manipur and stayed in the state illegally.
The 38 Myanmar nationals were handed over to officials of Tammu(Myanmar) during a handover ceremony held at Moreh near the Indo Myanmar Friendship gate. A team of Manipur Police, Assam Rifles, Moreh Immigration officials handed the Myanmarese to the Military officials of Myanmar.
The Manipur Chief Minister N. Biren Singh in his X posted “Without any discrimination, we have completed the first phase of deportation of illegal immigrants from Myanmar with 38 more immigrants leaving Manipur, India through Moreh. A total of 77 illegal immigrants have been deported in the first phase. One Indian national was also brought back from Myanmar during the handover ceremony”.
His post further said that the "State government is continuing the identification of illegal immigrants and at the same time biometric data are being recorded. Let’s keep our borders and country secure”.
