RPF operations yield major success against touts in NFR jurisdiction

Guwahati: Railway Protection Force (RPF) of North East Frontier Railway (NFR) continues its drive against touting activities to ensure availability of reserved tickets to genuine passengers. In three separate operations, RPF arrested three touts and recovered a total of 44 PRS tickets worth more than Rs. One Lakh.
In the first incident, on 2nd September, 2025, based on source information, a joint team of CIB of New Jalpaiguri and RPF Post of New Jalpaiguri conducted a raid at a shop named Sitaram Online Service located at Majawali, Jalpaiguri (West Bengal). During the raid, one tout was arrested with the recovery of 02 future PRS tickets worth Rs. 830. A case was registered vide No. 1070/2025 dated 4th September, 2025 u/s 143 Railways Act.
In the second case, on 3rd September, 2025, a team of CIB of Lumding led by RPF one tout was arrested at PRS Dimapur. During the operation, 02 future PRS tickets worth Rs. 3,465 were recovered. A case was registered vide No. 278/2025 dated 3rd September, 2025 u/s 143 Railways Act.
In the third incident, on 4th September, 2025 acting on source information, a team of RPF Post of Dalkhola arrested one tout at PRS Kanki. During the operation, 07 future PRS tickets worth Rs. 11,889.01 and 33 past PRS tickets worth Rs. 90,819.46 (total 40 PRS tickets valued at Rs. 1,02,708.47/-) were recovered. A case was registered vide No. 207/2025 dated 4th September, 2025 u/s 143 Railways Act.
RPF of N. F. Railway is committed to curbing the menace of touting and ensuring that genuine passengers get access to reserved tickets. Regular drives and raids will continue in this regard.
