Mumbai/IBNS: “Babies while doing movies”—when Deepika Padukone said this on a chat show years ago, she may have meant every word.
As the actor prepares to continue working through her pregnancy, an old clip from the popular talk show Koffee With Karan has resurfaced, drawing fresh attention.
During the episode, host Karan Johar asked Deepika to choose between babies and movies.
Seated alongside Alia Bhatt, the Pathaan star initially responded, “Karan please!” before adding, “Babies while doing movies.”
Deepika made the remark at a time when she was unmarried and in a relationship with her now-husband Ranveer Singh.
Deepika and her husband, actor Ranveer Singh, announced on social media that they are expecting their second child.
The couple, who married in 2018, welcomed their first child, a daughter named Dua, in 2024.
Deepika is currently attached to two major projects.
She will star opposite Shah Rukh Khan in King, marking their sixth collaboration. The film is slated for a December 24, 2026 release.
She is also part of Raaka, a pan-India film led by Allu Arjun and directed by Atlee, expected to release later in 2026.
With both films lined up for release, Deepika has chosen to continue with her shooting schedule.
According to a report by Hindustan Times, she is continuing to shoot for Raaka, including action sequences, during her pregnancy.
“During her pregnancy, Deepika Padukone is shooting intense action sequences for Raaka. She will continue to shoot for the film throughout her pregnancy,” the report quoted a source as saying.
