Chanchal Chowdhury as Mrinal Sen in Srijit Mukherji's Padatik. Catch the first look
Kolkata/IBNS: After a sweeping success with Hawa, Bangladeshi actor Chanchal Chowdhury is set to work with filmmaker Srijit Mukherji to essay legendary director Mrinal Sen in upcoming Bengali film Padatik.
Padatik will be a biopic of Mrinal Sen.

Chowdhury's first look as on-screen Sen in the film has been released by the makers.
Bengali actor Monami Ghosh will play Sen's wife Geeta Sen on the big screens while Samrat Chakrabarti is set to portray the legend's son Kunal Sen in the film.
Korak Samanta will play the younger version of Mrinal Sen.

Speaking on portraying the filmmaking icon on the big screens, Chanchal Chowdhury said, "One needs courage and qualifications to play Mrinal Sen on big-screens. My courage and qualifications will be tested in this film."
"It still feels unreal to play Mrinal Sen but actors do have to take such roles considering their dreams," the popular Bangladeshi actor added.

A few days ago, Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan sent "good wishes" to the film, which will go on floors in Kolkata on Jan 15.
Bachchan tweeted, "All good wishes .."
