Janhvi Kapoor makes stylish Cannes debut in Tarun Tahiliani outfit

Bollywood actress Janhvi Kapoor on Tuesday made a stunning red carpet debut at the 78th Cannes Film Festival, bringing a hint of ethereal elegance to the French Riviera.
Janhvi effortlessly carried her traditional Indian ensemble with a modern haute couture, created by designer Tarun Tahiliani, at the esteemed event.
The ensemble, depicted in a gentle blush tone, included carefully hand-pleated fabric that embraced a structured and contemporary aesthetic while emulating the traditional saree silhouette.
It features a handwoven real tissue skirt and corset, specially crafted in Benares.
"The surface is brought to life with a hand-crushed technique that lends depth and texture, while a signature TT drape adds a touch of sculptural fluidity. The raw, uncut hem remains untouched—an intentional ode to the authenticity of the weave," Tarun Tahiliani posted on Instagram.
The draped pallu-like dupatta, delicately placed over her head and shoulder, added a regal and vintage touch.
Her look was elevated with an elegant layered pearl necklace, a tidy low bun, and sparse makeup in shades of soft pink and well-defined eyes.
She was joined by her co-actors Ishaan Khatter and Vishal Jethwa, acclaimed director Neeraj Ghaywan, and celebrated producer Karan Johar. Their film 'Homebound' marks a significant entry in Indian cinema’s international footprint, and the team’s presence at Cannes underscored its global ambition.
This year's Cannes Film Festival will feature the film's premiere in the Un Certain Regard section. The project has attracted a lot of attention from around the world.
Homebound is produced by Dharma Productions in collaboration with Adar Poonawalla, Apoorva Mehta, and Somen Mishra. Renowned filmmaker Martin Scorsese and Pravin Khairnar are on board as executive producers of the film.
