Actor-director Ujaan Ganguly said, "The film will always have a special place in my heart because it's my directorial debut. We tried to portray a story through this film, for which it has already been immensely appreciated. The one thing we're hearing is that the plot has a fresh concept."
The film marks more than the arrival of a new director. It introduces a story that blurs the boundaries between fantasy and reality, using the language of a thriller to examine hope, loss and the moral complexities of a city struggling with its own contradictions.
"Through this film, we've tried to keep our childhood alive. Kurukshetra was released internationally, but this film is in my own mother tongue which Kurukshetra couldn't replace. With my father's (Kaushik Ganguly) guidance and my mother's (Churni Ganguly) support in their own fields, it feels incomparable", Ganguly added.
At the film's heart is Kedar Barua, a young man haunted by the ghosts of his past while searching for purpose in a world marked by injustice.
As Paro's love offers him a path towards healing, another force begins to emerge from the shadows—a mysterious vigilante whose extraordinary presence gradually transforms the story into something larger than a conventional thriller.
Actress Rapurna Bhattacharyya said, "When I got the role, I studied about it, and from that I grew even more keen towards this character. From there I felt even more connected towards acting. And I think the audience would also feel that too through the screen."
The film brings together an ensemble cast featuring the late Rahul Arunoday Banerjee, Biswanath Basu, Biswajit Chakraborty, Churni Ganguly and several others.
The film is scheduled to be released in cinemas on July 24.
